Mission

  • Promote multidisciplinary interaction among scholars in Seattle about complex
    science policy issues.
  • Foster the development of citizen-scientists who can participate effectively in
    public discussions about science and society.
  • Increase dialogue among scientists, policymakers and the public that will help scientists gain an appreciation for how scientific and non-scientific knowledge affect public policy.
  • Provide leadership opportunities for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
  • Provide an online clearinghouse of information for individuals interested in
    science, ethics, and policy.
